These conditions govern purchases of products on our online store. Special agreements expressly concluded with a customer take precedence over these conditions.
The applicable version is that available when ordering. Subsequent changes do not apply to orders already concluded.
- Products and origin
The characteristics, species, category and weight offered are indicated on the product sheets.
Our fresh truffles are weighed and packaged after each order. Their origin varies according to the seasons, the harvests and deliveries from our truffle hunters and suppliers. Each batch comes from a single origin.
To find out the country of origin of the current delivery before ordering, contact us on WhatsApp or by telephone on +41 79 250 97 10. We will inform you free of charge.
When a specific origin is expressly announced on a product sheet, the truffles delivered correspond to this origin.
- Natural particularities of truffles
Truffles are natural products: their shape, color and size may vary. The photographs illustrate the products and do not necessarily represent the truffles that will be delivered.
Irregularities, small cracks, cavities or breaks do not, in themselves, constitute a defect when they are compatible with the category and description of the product ordered and do not alter its food safety or its culinary use.
Natural variations in color, including darker or reddish areas, may also be present. They do not, in themselves, constitute a defect when they are compatible with the species and category announced and do not affect the safety or quality of the product.
These details do not cover spoiled products or products unfit for consumption, nor non-compliance with the species, category, quality, weight or origin expressly announced.
- Weighing and natural weight development
Each order of fresh truffles is weighed during its preparation using a professional scale verified by the cantonal metrology service. The net weight checked at this time corresponds to the minimum weight of truffles ordered, excluding packaging and protective materials.
Fresh truffles may naturally lose moisture after packaging, which may cause their weight to decrease during transportation and storage. To limit this effect, we generally add a slight surplus, at no extra cost.
In the event of a discrepancy noted upon receipt, contact us according to the complaint procedures provided for in these conditions. Each situation is examined taking into account the weighing during preparation and the transport and storage conditions, without prejudice to applicable rights.
- Order and payment
Before confirming their order, the customer checks the products, quantities, contact details and delivery address. They may correct this information during the order process.
Final validation results in a payment obligation. An order confirmation is sent by email.
The available payment methods and terms are presented during checkout. Any payment by invoice is subject to a specific agreement.
If an ordered product is exceptionally unavailable, we quickly contact the customer to offer a new deadline or a refund for the product concerned. No replacement is imposed without the customer's agreement.
- Prices and delivery costs
The applicable prices are those displayed when ordering, in the currency indicated. Any delivery costs and the total amount are presented before final validation.
Swiss Truffle Dealers is not subject to Swiss VAT and does not charge Swiss VAT on its sales.
Subsequent price changes do not affect orders already confirmed.
- Preparation and shipping
Products available in stock are shipped within 48 hours after order confirmation, excluding weekends and public holidays. This period corresponds to the preparation time before delivery to the carrier.
Available destinations and applicable fees are indicated when ordering.
Our fresh truffles are shipped by Swiss-Express “Lune”, without signature. This service provides delivery the next business day after shipment, before 9 a.m., including Saturdays.
The customer ensures that they provide a complete and accurate address and is able to quickly collect perishable products.
- Reception and storage
Make arrangements to collect your package as soon as it is delivered. As a precaution, check your parcel box the expected morning, even if no one has rung: it may happen that the parcel is left there without warning.
Upon receipt, open the package, check the products and immediately place the fresh truffles in the refrigerator. Do not leave the package in the parcel box or at room temperature.
Follow the storage instructions and any expiry dates indicated on the products.
- Delivery delay or incident
If the package has not arrived at the expected time, contact us quickly with your order number so that we can take the necessary steps with La Poste.
Subject to mandatory legal provisions, Swiss Truffle Dealers is not responsible for delays exclusively attributable to the carrier or their consequences, when the products have been delivered to the carrier within the announced deadlines, with suitable packaging and shipping method.
This provision does not cover defects that existed before shipment or breaches attributable to Swiss Truffle Dealers. It does not exclude responsibilities which cannot legally be excluded, particularly in the event of intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
- Control and complaints concerning fresh truffles
As fresh truffles are perishable, please check your order upon receipt.
Any apparent defect or quantity discrepancy must be reported to us immediately, at the latest within 24 hours of receipt. Please indicate your order number and attach, if possible, photographs of the product and its packaging.
Defects which could not be detected during the inspection upon receipt must be reported to us immediately after their discovery.
The 24-hour deadline only concerns apparent defects and differences in quantity of fresh truffles. It does not apply to other products.
- Returns and Claims Processing
Due to their perishable nature, we do not accept returns or exchanges of fresh truffles for a simple change of mind. This provision does not limit claims for defect or non-conformity.
Contact us before any return. If a return is necessary to investigate your complaint, we will provide you with appropriate instructions. A complaint can also be processed without return when this is not necessary.
We examine each complaint to determine the appropriate solution, including a replacement or refund, without prejudice to any rights applicable in the event of a defect.
If a defect falling under our responsibility is confirmed, we will cover the previously agreed return costs.
For other products, the rights applicable in the event of a defect remain reserved. Possible return options for change of mind are those expressly offered at the time of purchase.
Our returns and refund policy supplements these provisions.
- Personal data
The methods of processing personal data are described in the privacy policy accessible on our site.
- Applicable law and disputes
These conditions are governed by Swiss law, subject to any mandatory consumer protection provisions that may apply.
In case of difficulty, contact us to find an amicable solution. The legal rules of jurisdiction of the courts remain applicable.
