Become a truffle hunter with your dog — private truffle-hunting course

Your dog can learn to find truffles.

All breeds are welcome. Share a new activity with your dog in a private training course open to participants from all over Switzerland. A gentle, play-based method for learning together.

More than 200 dog-and-handler teams have already trained with us. I teach you the foundations of truffle hunting with a dog and guide you through your first exercises.

A treasure hunt with your dog, out in nature

Truffle hunting is first and foremost a game to share. You learn to observe your dog, understand its reactions and trust it. Your dog explores and uses its nose. Together you build a new bond in contact with nature.

To find real truffles, I train with real truffles

Flavoured liquids have no place in my method: teaching a dog to search for truffle flavouring is not the aim. I want your dog to become familiar with the truffle itself.

I also avoid boxes and imitation truffles as training targets. These objects can add their own odours and traces left by handling. The aim is for your dog to search for the truffle without depending on a container or its handler’s scent.

During the course, I teach you how to prepare the exercises and progress together using a gentle, play-based method.

Your course includes

• Approximately 4 hours of theory and practice for you and your dog.
• An introduction to truffles, their natural habitats and the basics of truffle hunting.
• Course material and training truffles so you can continue practising.
• 12 weeks of personalised advice by WhatsApp or phone after the course.

Practical information

• 1 person + 1 dog per course.
• All breeds, from 6 months to 10 years.
• Participants from all over Switzerland · June to March. Date and location arranged together.
• Training in French, German or English; simple Italian available on request.

After the course, you continue the exercises at your own pace. I answer your questions remotely for 12 weeks to help you progress. Every dog develops at its own pace.
